2011 NFL Mock Draft: Jacksonville Jaguars Sack Ryan Kerrigan at No. 16

Article By on 24th April, 2011

2011 NFL Mock Draft Has the Jacksonville Jaguars Jumping on Ryan Kerrigan at No. 16 in NFL Draft

Ryan Kerrigan is simply a football player.

His size and athleticism have been knocked throughout the majority of this draft process but he is a legitimate threat in almost any defense.

Kerrigan plays with great leverage off the edge, has a relentless motor and gives his all on every play.

He does not have ideal upside and may not be an elite edge rusher during his career, but he’ll outwork everyone in front of him.

I don’t think he is a great fit for a 3-4, but he can do anything a team wants him to do.

The Jaguars have a major need for pass rush help this year and I think they’ll make this pick pretty quickly, especially with Aldon Smith already off the board.

Jacksonville also has needs at linebacker, cornerback, tight end and wide receiver.

None of those positions really hold enough value at this point in the draft.

Adding help at defensive end is their main concern and the only other surprising thing I can think of is their need at quarterback.

If they see a quarterback they’re in love with do not be surprised if they make a play for him.
