Rewarding Those Who Don’t Play: Tannenbaum, Ryan Get Contract Extensions

... seasons and a very mediocre 34-34 after four campaigns running the New York Jets, General Manager Mike Tannenbaum was rewarded with a contract extension on the eve of the most anticipated season in the franchise's 50-year history.

Owner Woody Johnson didn't stop there as he also extended the contract of head coach Rex Ryan after one season at the helm.

Under Ryan the Jets went 11-8 including an appearance in the AFC Championship for the third time without a victory.

The contract extensions are just another example of rewarding those who don't actually play the game.
