... Packers have announced that outside linebacker Jeremy Thompson has been released due to medical concerns.

Thompson suffered a severe neck sprain in a collision with practice squad running back Kregg Lumpkin in December of 2009.

Thompson never experienced any type of paralysis, but was held overnight at a local hospital for further evaluation.

The injury came at a time when he was beginning to see more playing time due to the absence of then starter Aaron Kampman.
