Jaguars Part Ways with Backup Quarterback Cleo Lemon

Article By on 17th June, 2009

... Lemon on Wednesday, according to multiple reports.

Lemon was the only quarterback other than David Garrard to take a snap for the Jaguars in 2008. He went 0-for-2 in one game with two carries for minus-three yards.

The Jaguars had signed Lemon to a three-year, $8.1 million deal before the 2008 season to replace Byron Leftwich.

With Lemon gone, Todd Bouman is the new No. 2 to Garrard. Bouman, 36, has played for Minnesota and New Orleans but hasn't taken a snap in an NFL game since 2005. He competed with Lemon to be Garrard's backup a year ago, losing the competition and getting released.

Paul Smith, an undrafted first-year player out of Tulsa with zero NFL snaps, is the only other quarterback on the roster.
