Chicago Bears Not Feeling Minnesota

... this week, Bears Linebacker Lance Briggs was complaining to reporters about having to play outside against the Vikings. Briggs' argument against having the game played at TCF Bank Stadium was that he was worried about a concussion with the field being frozen.

To me, this is being overlooked.

Before the Metrodome, the Vikings played their games in Metropolitan Stadium, an outdoor stadium. This posed a huge psychological advantage for opposing teams.

In the twenty years (1961-1981) that the Vikings played at the Met, they made the playoffs 11 times. Had it not been for the Vikings being an expansion team, they would have made it a few more times in that span.
