The Pacific Athletic Conference has not seen change since 1978, when Arizona and Arizona State fled from the WAC, turning the Pac-8 into the Pac-10.

Expansion will once again occur with the opening of the 2011 season when the Colorado Buffaloes, from the Big 12 Conference, and the Utah Utes, from the Mountain West Conference, enter the South Division of the new Pac-12 alignment.

Oddly enough, Colorado and Utah have not played one another since 1969.
