Texas and Oklahoma Cheerleaders Support Fans As They Pull an 83,000-Pound Jet

... cheerleaders from both Texas and Oklahoma teamed up with a local Texas airline in order to give fans of both teams a chance to wage the Red River Rivalry themselves.

The premise is simple. Fans of both schools (who are also airline employees) team up to see who can pull an 83,000-pound Boeing 737-700 jet down a 50-yard "field" the fastest.

As bitter as the rivalry has been on the gridiron, this is for fun...and quite the spectacle, too.

Employees clad in crimson or burnt orange surround the battlefield, snapping pictures and filming videos, while a DJ from a local radio station oversees the event.

This year, ice cream and energy drink vendors kept the graciously massive crowd cool with frozen treats and cold drinks.
