Martinez's 369 total yards helped him win the honor, but it was how he did it that was impressive.

Martinez rushed 15 times for 241 yards, which included four touchdowns of 14, 35, 41, and 80 yards.

He also was 5-of-7 passing, including a 79-yard touchdown pass to sophomore tight end Kyler Reed.

Not only did Martinez's game win him the Big XII honors, but it put him in the middle of a wide open Heisman race.
