... underachieving 2008 campaign, they will have to start with quite the kick to the teeth.  In fact, there is a good chance they lose four of their first five games, and probably lots of teeth as well, to start the season.       

The Illini begin their 2009 campaign against Missouri, ranked directly above the Illini at 34 in the first USA Today Poll, in St. Louis and follow that game up with their easiest game on the schedule, against Illinois State in Champaign under the lights.  Two winnable games, but only one guaranteed win. 

Then comes the steel-toed boot to the mouth.
