Conferences like the Pac-10 and the Big Ten have both increased their number of members as well as the quality of play that will now reside in their conference. The Big 12 suffered greatly, losing two members, but at the same time, is lucky to still be in existence. Realignment is now an important issue more than ever, as the BCS National Championship Game has had one representative from either the Big 12 or the SEC or both in the past seven seasons. Conferences hoping to break the BCS glass ceiling will desperately try to add teams in the coming years to add prestige and overall quality to their conference in hopes of multiple teams making a BCS bowl game.
