... are high in Tiger Town yet again as the season opener against Middle Tennessee approaches.  I wouldn’t fault them however—with the young stars and returning talent, there is no reason to count the Tigers out as ACC title contenders. 

But looking back, it’s hard to give much preseason glory to this program.  It seems so often lately that high hopes are slashed with shortcomings and missed opportunities.  Everyone remembers the blowout opener to unranked Alabama, and despite tremendous talent, Clemson hasn’t taken the ACC title in 17 years. 

Let’s take an honest look at what to expect this fall.
