Northern Iowa can best be explained to the FBS fan as the USC or Florida of the FCS. They have been ranked in the top five in the FCS final polls five of the last seven years, and were ranked in the top 25 all seven. This veteran team looks to be very good in 2009, and other experts agree, as Lindy's Preview Magazine ranked the Panthers fourth in their preseason poll.
