The big question facing the Jets now is who is going to fill Faneca's shoes? Currently, there are two options on the Jets roster: last year's sixth round pick Matt Slauson and this years second round pick Vladimir Ducasse.
The conventional wisdom says Ducasse has the upper hand because he was a second round pick. However I think Slauson has the inside edge having played for a year behind Faneca and being a four year starter at Nebraska.
The Jets are saying it is going to be a pretty open competition between Slauson and Ducasse for the left guard spot, with the loser filling in as a depth player and both guard positions.<...
