... 1991, the first President Bush introduced to us a phrase that will forever be remembered as the “mother of all insert-event/topic-here” annoyances. It was the beginning of the barrage against Iraq for its invasion of Kuwait. It was the “Mother of all Battles."

 

Since that epic “mother of all press releases” there have been thousands of “mother of all references” to the initial coined phrase in movies, TV shows, sports broadcasts, water cooler chatter, and escalated bar conversations.
