I for one feel like it is a messed up system when a rookie quarterback is set to make 50 million dollars without having done ANYTHING to deserve it. The fact that an athlete making that much money is absurd is a different point entirely.
I feel I have a rather good idea as to how this can be eliminated. Perhaps the "rookie pay scale" is a good idea, but I feel like that would be more difficult for the player's association to agree to.
What about seriously back-loaded and incentive-based contracts for rookies with little guaran...
