NFC South: LeGarrette Blount, Chris Ivory Nominated for Rookie of the Week Award

Article By on 8th December, 2010

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back LeGarrette Blount and New Orleans Saints running back Chris Ivory are among the finalists for the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for Week 13.

Blount ran for 103 yards with a touchdown in the Buccaneers‘ 28-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, while Ivory rolled for 117 yards on the ground with two scores, one a career-long 55-yarder, as the Saints beat the Cincinnati Bengals, 34-30.

Cleveland Browns cornerback Joe Haden, Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee and Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry are also finalists, but it seems Lee has the only real shot at the award above Blount and Ivory.

Lee intercepted Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning twice, one of which went 31 yards for a touchdown in the Cowboys’ 38-35 overtime win in Indianapolis.

Voting ends at 12 p.m. EST Friday.
