2011 NFL Draft: Alot to Fix, Can the Bills Find the Right Fix with the 3rd Pick

Article By on 22nd March, 2011

2011 NFL Draft the Bills have toiled in the realm of terrible football for much of the recent past, but that could change with the right player this year.

Tim Green of ESPN best stated it as he said that the Bills have too many holes to fill with one pick. But, the most crucial needs are not at the skill positions.

“The most pressing needs, however, are tackle and outside linebacker. The Bills haven’t drafted an offensive tackle earlier than the fifth round since taking Mike Williams in the first round in 2002, and their line play shows that.”

Unfortuntely for the Bills, the offensive tackle position does not have that franchise player like Jake Long or Joe Thomas this year, and any offensive tackle would be an utter reach.

Consensus has the Bills taking Marcell Dareus as he would legitamize the defensive attack right away.

Mel Kiper added, “Dareus is a player who can fit any scheme well. With great quickness for his size, he can take up blockers and still provide a push as a 3-4 defensive end, perhaps solidifying that scheme for the Bills. A safe pick at No. 3.”

Todd McShay among others have Blaine Gabbert being chosen to be the future starter in Buffalo.

I believe that the best option would be to select Nick Fairley or Dareus as Ryan Fitzpatrick has proven to be a fine quarterback that has gained the respect of his teammates as a leader.

Chan Gailey just seems like he is going to go defense with this pick.
