The hot topic right now is "BCS system vs. Playoff". But I see an equal problem: the BCS Rankings themselves.
Last night, we had Florida vs. Cincinnati in the Sugar Bowl. The game was ugly as Florida went on to win 51-24, up 30-3 at the half and 44-10 at the end of the third quarter.
Florida was favored to win by 14, so the result wasn't too much of a shock. But what makes little sense is that Florida was the No. 5 ranked team with Cincinnati ranked No. 3.
How does it happen that a No. 3 team is a two-TD underdog to a No. 5? Hence the problem with the ranking system.
