Wannstedt is a former coach for the NFL's Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins.
His first coaching stint began with the Pittsburgh Panthers back in 1975, where he was hired as an assistant to then head coach Johnny Majors. Wannstedt helped guide the Panthers to a National Championship during the 1976-77 season with a victory over the Georgia Bulldogs in the 1977 Sugar Bowl.
Wannstedt would become friends with Jimmy Johnson who was hired by the Panthers, and follow him to Dallas to coach the Cowboys as a Defensive Coordinator. His defensive squad became known as the best under W...
