... junior defensive tackle Nick Fairley has won the 2010 Rotary Lombardi Award. Fairley is the first Auburn player to win the award since Tracy Rocker took the prize home in 1988. Rocker is coincidentally Fairley's defensive line coach at Auburn.

Fairley, a 2009 junior college transfer from Copiah-Lincoln Community College, has enjoyed phenomenal success in his first full season as a starter. On the year Fairley has recorded 21 tackles for a loss, 11 sacks and one interception. Fairley, the SEC Defensive Player of the Year, is also a finalist for the Bednarik Award.
