National Signing Day 2011: Which School Came Out On Top?

Article By on 3rd February, 2011

National Signing Day 2011 Was A Huge Success For Florida State, But Did They Top Everyone?

Remember back in the day when Florida State used to be the king of recruiting? Well, with a stellar core of athletes coming out of the state of Florida this year, Jimbo Fisher and the Seminoles made it their duty to make sure they were not going to let those top prospects get away.

ESPN has reported that Florida State has landed the top recruiting class for 2010, but that could change pending on some of the other top recruits decisions. Even if a school like Auburn or Alabama do land those top couple recruits that are undecided, Florida State should still have the top class, and here’s why.

They landed 12 ESPNU Top-150 recruits. No other school can say that they landed that type of talent on top. Of those 12 recruits, four of them are top-10 rated defensive backs, meaning that Florida State should have the most feared secondary in all of college football for years to come. Karlos Williams is the top rated safety in the country and will be one of the best athletes in the college football from the second he puts on a Florida State jersey. The Seminoles focused a lot on signing defense and athletes, which should make them dangerous on both sides of the ball.
