Certainly, it's not every year that Tim Tebow, Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy, and Taylor Mays return to Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, and USC, respectively.
But by and large, the minimum three-year career of an elite football player dwarfs that of the one-and-done hoopster. This allows fan bases to get to know their gridiron idols, media to unearth and disseminate their personal stories, and enables personal and team rivalries to develop.
