Florida State (6-6) will face off against West Virginia (9-3) Jan. 1st in the Konica Minolta Gator Bowl held in Jacksonville's Municipal Stadium. This game, which is the equivalent of a final curtain call for Bowden, is significant for Hurricanes fans.

Because FSU was invited to the Gator Bowl, No. 14 Miami was bumped down from the bowl game they coveted to a lesser bowl. They will literally head south as they accept an invitation to the Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando to square off against the Wisconsin Badgers (9-3; AP no. 24) on Dec. 29.
