Grant, who would have been a red shirt senior next season, was looking in from the outside in the crowded Crimsontide backfield, behind 2009 Heisman trophy winner Mark Ingram and Freshman phenom Trent Richardson. It is also expected that highly tauted red-shirt freshman Eddie Lacy would take over Roy Upchurch's roll as the third down and change of pace back.
