For Alabama, Future Is Bright at QB

... to add a top-flight QB to each of his three recruiting classes. In 2008, Saban landed four-star, dual-threat QB Star Jackson. In 2009, it was four-star Mobile prospect A.J. McCarron. In 2010, Saban went to Virginia to land five-star Phillip Sims. He has also made it a goal to land four-star Christian Lemay for 2011.

So far, Star Jackson has struggled in the Alabama offense. Probably the biggest reason for this is that he committed to Alabama when it was using more of a spread, wide-open offense under Major Applewhite, as compared to the grinding, run-based offense that is currently being run under Jim McElwain. It appears Jackson is not giving up, however, and he will battle others for the second-string position during the offseason.
