I live in Miami Beach and there are only two college teams in the wonderful city. There's the University of Miami, home of the Hurricanes. And there's Florida International University, home of the Golden Panthers.

Most Miami college sports fans only care about the Miami Hurricanes. To be honest, the only reason anyone would care about the FIU Golden Panthers is because they are FIU students or alumni.

And if it weren't for the brawl back in 2006, the Hurricanes would be using FIU as a tuneup game instead of Florida A&M.

But I took interest in FIU mostly because the team is made up of South Florida talent. So with that interest, I started watching their games ...
