Maurkice Pouncey, a first round pick of the Steelers, is embroiled in a controversy surrounding the acceptance of an improper payment of $100,000.

Details remain sketchy, but according to ESPN a representative of an agent is being investigated for facilitating a payment to Pouncey after the SEC championship game and before the Sugar Bowl.

The University of Florida reported the alleged violation to the NCAA, and AD Jeremy Foley has been quoted as saying that the university reported it early in June.
