Normally, championship teams have to win some games ugly, and that usually means the defense has to step up and make a play. Think LSU in 2007 - a lot of late victories, close losses, crucial turnovers, and some stiff play from the defense down the stretch. With that in mind, I've reranked the top ten BCS teams by the strength of their defenses. How many close games have they won, and how have they been required to rise to the challenge?
