A sport constantly in transition, the most common storyline in college football at the beginning of each season is which unproven players will ultimately prove adequate in replacing former stars lost to the professional ranks. This season in particular, college football will be without some of the best players that it has ever hosted—Heisman winner Tim Tebow, and winningest quarterback of all time, Colt McCoy. But this season, true to the sport's nature, legends will be dutifully remembered, and then replaced.
