... butter and jelly. College football programs with winning traditions are as important to the NCAA as the Yankees and Red Sox are to the MLB. In 2009, a "has-been" program, Alabama, made its way back to the top of the mountain after years of mediocre football. Is there a team that can do the same thing in 2010? It's not likely a has-been will win the national title two years in a row, but there are a few once-proud programs that are ready to begin their comeback to national prominence. It will take a little longer than a season or two for some of the following teams, but rest assured, these programs will not be has-beens for much longer.
