The pressure I'm referring to is the pressure of seriously competing for a national championship. Before now a national championship in a men's sport was seemingly an impossibility.
The only national championship in school history came from the Lady Gamecocks outdoor track team in 2002, though the Gamecocks have appeared in previous College World Series and NCAA basketball finals.
