They weren’t ranked in the Top 25 (they received 66 votes putting them 29th), and for Arizona, that is exactly where they need to be.
The Wildcats have played better as the underdog the past two seasons. Last season, they were picked to finish eighth in the Pac-10 and didn’t receive any votes in the first polls.
They finished second and if they had been able to put up a fight in the Holiday Bowl, they would have finished in the Top 25 for the first in 11 years.
