... University quarterback Cam Newton is having a very good week.

He won the 2010 Heisman Trophy on Saturday and then on Monday night appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman.

The appearance on late night TV and the Heisman Trophy are welcome distractions for the young athlete. 

Newton has been the target of an ongoing NCAA investigation. His father was found to have contacted an agent to see if he could parlay his son's commitment to Mississippi State into a six-figure sum of money. The quarterback chose to attend Auburn instead and has so far been cleared to play.
