Bruce Miller Named C-USA Defensive Player of the Year

... has been named the Conference USA Player of the Year for 2009.

The vote came as a result of 12 ballots from Conference USA coaches. It marks the fourth time in five years that UCF has earned at least one of the league's major awards.

Miller helped lead UCF to the conference's top ranking in total defense, scoring defense, rushing defense, sacks, and tackles for loss, resulting in an impressive 8-4 record and a bowl berth.

Perhaps the biggest play of the season came from Miller against Marshall when he forced a fumble by Herd quarterback Brian Anderson with 2:12 left to go in a nationally-televised game.
