... Ricky Stanzi went down with a knee injury in the second quarter of Iowa's home opener, Hawkeye fans had flashbacks to last year.

It was a scenario fans were hoping wouldn't happen so soon in the season, if ever. After Stanzi went down with injury last year, Iowa dropped two straight.

Backup quarterback James Vandenberg quickly reminded fans that there was no reason to worry. 

Vandenberg stepped in mid-drive to help lead the team downfield for a score. The sophomore looked comfortable leading the team.
