... their season opener against Seattle.  After dominating the first quarter and much of the second quarter, the Niners imploded and did very little right for the remainder of the game.  The end result was a 31-6 defeat against a division rival.

The 49ers must now face the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints.  New Orleans defeated the Minnesota Vikings 14-9 in their season opener, as the Saints held Brett Favre and Adrian Peterson in check.
