... that turn. Not necessarily better, but certainly different.

Driving south from Detroit to Florida, I remember seeing "Iowa" on an interstate highway.

Why I remember that, I'll never know. We might as well have been on our way to the Yukon for all I knew. That's how far away from home it seemed.

But instead of heading west on that highway, instead of making that turn, we headed south toward the Sunshine State. 

I've always had this sneaking suspicion that Iowa football is a not-so-secret best-kept secret.

Like out in the midriff of America, Hawkeye fans are having a blast, sort of out of the bright lights and city life of college football's more Hollywood-esque teams, all the while laughing at the rest of us....
